Posted September 30, 200915 yr right. it would appear the alternator on my 1994 1400 cvh mk5b project motor has zapped its last volt. now it should be an easy affair changing it out for a good part (the mechanics of changing it are the level of a 5yr old) and all I really need to do is source the replacement. BUT!... Ive had people telling me allsorts of random "facts" , my questions are as follows, please dont answer them if you do not do so with a good degree of certianty and knowledge... 1. what is the part code for a 1.4 cvh alternator?2. is there a variance between the parts used on powersteering and non-powersteering engines?3. does anyone have what im after? cheers in advance all
September 30, 200915 yr fra238 is a quinten hazell part number if its a 55amp alternator (which it probably be)
September 30, 200915 yr Author fra238 is a quinten hazell part number if its a 55amp alternator (which it probably be) only markings on the original is the last half remains of a part number sticker which as best as I can make out ends with a238.... sounds hopeful but my only concern there is that other models may have had different numbers with similiar ends digits as the one you've mentioned.....suppose I can allways take a chance on it
