Posted October 1, 200915 yr Well my ex-girlfriends mum is selling her Mondeo, which she knows i have been after for a while. Its an X reg but the new shape mondeo, not the bubble shape. Its covered 130,000 miles has tax till November and Mot till February i believe. Its the 2.0 Zetec with all the mod-cons like all colour coded handles and bump stripes, air con, cd player, 4 elec windows and mirrors etc etc. The body work does reflect it being a used family car with age and milage. Some deep key marks on bonnet and wing, and a few small car park dings here and there. I will need to tinker with small things like glove box and parcel shelf and will need a new rear light. Basically, shes willing to let me have it for £550, i'd still offer £500 if i took it.But looking on eBay and the likes, exact same model cars with equal or higher milage are going for £1,000+ still.Found an identical one in the area with 140,000 miles sell for £1,250 with same tax but a years Mot. Anyway what do you all think?I know they are more expensive to run than 1.6 escorts. But is it a bargain? Should i get it as i've wanted it for a while? It would be a project in my garage to tidy up till February in my spare time.I need opinions quickly as she needs and answer today. Thanks evo =] Edited October 1, 200915 yr by Chicane16v

October 1, 200915 yr Mondeos are very good cars..The mk3's are excellent. Very comfortable, great handling, tons of grip and reasonable economy for a car its size.
October 1, 200915 yr back in 2005 i owned a 2003 TDCi Ghia X. It was a good car, not out of this world, but good enough. To be fair though, it only took a 1996 BMW 525tds to make me realise it wasn't that comfortable....
October 1, 200915 yr Go for it, you wont be dissappointed, they are a bit boring but for motorway driving etc i cant fault mine
