heres my van

it started life as a mot failure bought for next to nothing,

i bought an rs2000 front bumper

added 4x subs and a few amps, loads of speckers and a sony stereo

fitted a turbo diesel lump

turned boost and fueling up to 18psi

added some alloys and gave a good polish

now its a saxo vtr eating, wheelspining through the gears monster,

before

but wait its gets more intresting... when i add the T28 turbo and a saab 9000 intercooler, could be seeing around 180bhp

and the turbo

looking good mate
Not bad looking van mate

looks nice mate,

any pics of your sub set up?? are they just in boxes or a install?

boxes, 2 are behind the bottom of the seats and 2 are in the back lol

180bhp? not questioning just wondering where you was told that? and are you doing any strengthening to the engine for this power?

whats it running now to beat VTR's? at standard with the fuelling and boost up you'd be lucky to see 110bhp so unless they were 1.1 vtr reps?....

either way does look nice id deffo change the wheels but like the front end :)

with ross on this one, BHP seams alittle exajurated (sp) and the wheels are kack but otherwise nicely done
the reason i ask is the pug 306 1.9 turbo diesels are lucky to see 150-160 without alot of changes :)
More chance of receiving head from maggie thatcher than getting 180bhp on that engine without serious modification.

yeah im not to keep on wheels, but trying to find something different every modded van has cossie or cossie rep wheels, and not many other standard ford wheels fit it.

and ive already met a bloke whos pushing out 184bhp for a td mondeo lump, done exactly same as me internals are standard!

110bhp is a definate as boost and fueling is turned up, and yes i can keep up with a saxo vtr from 0-115mph

as for the pug comment 'peugeots are unrealible crap'

no-one yet nos how far these engines can be pushed without internals breaking, but a few diesel specialists i have spoke to said the pistons and conrods and really strong!

i could take any engine and make stupid amounts of power, but its the matter of getting engine realible. 184bhp has so far lasted this bloke 9,000 miles. and it has been abused!

so all i can say to you lot that think it wont work 'i WILL prove you wrong'

i did once build a 135bhp turbo 1.3 endura engine using a t3 turbo and some rsturbo bits, no the engine did not blow up and its still going strong after regular servicing and 5000miles

anything is possible....

AFAIK the head can only really handle about 140bhp. there was a writeup on FF a while back, the bottom end is quite strong apparently but thats only what im told. Kent cams do a cam for the diesel lump apparently but the head will need alot of work. As said. its a grey area with the derv. i would think more like 150bhp would be more a realistic top end figure

like i said 'ive already met a bloke whos pushing out 184bhp for a td mondeo lump, done exactly same as me internals are standard! and so far its done 9,000 miles. and it has been abused, been on full track days, up the drag strip and used everyday!'

so how can u say the heads only ok for 140bhp??

kent cam do a cam but its for the diesel and not suitable for the turbo diesel, i dont need updated cam as the rev range will be fine with the T28, however maximum boost will be at 4500rpm, which is fine by me as you dont rev the nuts off turbo cars to go fast, you just got to change gear as soon as the boost runs out which isnt on the redline lol

only as far as i know from what im told... i wont make any bones about i dont know much about that engine at all, im just going by what im told

well im willing to see how far that engine will go, worse comes to worse its another £100 Td escort i buy and rip to bits with a 9" grinder again lol

i wont be after stupid amounts of bhp, but 180 will be reliable and useable when needed, especially when pulling my cossie mk3 escort around lol

everybody knows a bloke dont they

as for you sayin peugeots are unreliable crap im not convinced they are my berlingo which has a pug diesel engine has covered over 260k still drives sweet has not been serviced in a year never ghets looked after but never fails to start cant be that unreliable ?

as for your estimated power target i would like to see how you get to that figure
