Posted October 6, 200915 yr Has anyone fitted electric mirrors to a MK6 that did'nt have the wiring already there, easy enough job or dont bother?
October 13, 200915 yr go to the local scrappy, grab 2 looms out of a finesse or LX ( R plated upwards ) its the only way to add the electric mirrors with out major headaches. and on the plus side of that you can also add the dead locking and electric windows too if you grab the lock mech and motors aswell...
October 15, 200915 yr Thanx for the reply but why 2 looms One loom for each door, my finesse did not have the plugs in the door loom for eletric mirrors, so took looms out a Si and swapped them over over btw god idea to get new loom and plug everything in before you take the looms out like: http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSC00464.jpg

March 29, 201014 yr I made a custom loom to add my mk6 heated mirrors to my mk5b but I wouldnt advise it unless your either very savvy with wiring or silly patient Just got off my Lazy Fat arse and checked and I do have the plugs for electric mirrors in my doors. Yay!!!! http://i768.photobucket.com/albums/xx330/tmoore2310/Escort%20Mirrors/CIMG0021.jpg So I assume its an easy swap for electric mirrors, just need the mirrors, mounts and interior plates with the wireing still attached? I have some brand new M3 style electric mirrors that I will swap or sell to fund these, pics in the for sale section, Cheers. Edited March 29, 201014 yr by rigpig
