October 7, 200915 yr could be the fuelpump, have you tried resetting the cut off switch? also when was the car last serviced?
October 7, 200915 yr Author could be the fuelpump, have you tried resetting the cut off switch? also when was the car last serviced? where is the cutoff switch to re set. also the car was last service about 5 months ago thanks
October 7, 200915 yr cutoff switch is in drivers footwell on the right you might have to take the popout bit of plasic from the panel to reach it. does the fuel pump prime when you turn the key (quiet whine noise) ? also do you have a spark? may be spark plug/leads/coilpack related?
October 7, 200915 yr Fuel pump is nothing to do with it not turning over.. sounds like a busted starter motor to me.
October 7, 200915 yr Author just checked for the fuel pump noise but carn't hear anything . I had the starter off and cleaned it all up but still nothing would it be worth trying a new one ? as for a spark how would i know if theres a spark if it won't turn over as i thought you would only get a spark when the engine is turning . thanks for the advice so far guys i'm trying this as you surgest them
October 7, 200915 yr sorry me being thick i was thinking it was turning and not firing. i believe there is a plug up near the battery that plugs the starter motor into the loom/battery so it gets power. have a heck. failing that get the old multimeter out. stu would a faulty starter motor make the car cut out?
October 7, 200915 yr Author thanks for the advice earlier on chaps it turns out the immobilizer is dead hence no fuel pump and it not turning over looks like it might get scrapped !!!!
