Great dogs one of the most loving dogs i've ever seen and had. as for what you will need just the normal stuff you would get for any puppy. they can be quite stubborn so you have to be good and stern with them but other then that just enjoy them mate you wont regret getting one thats for sure and dont listen to foxdie he never has anything good to say.

check their eyes are clear, check for a good posture and that there hips are alligned correctly. look at the size and condition of the pup compared to its brothers/sisters and also check the parent out too. make sure the dog is inquisitive and energetic and not to lathargic, check for clean ears also.

a dog is usually what you make it. the owner makes the dog, the dog doesnt come prepackaged and set to destroy mode...thats the owners doing.

pretty much the same advice you'd use for raising any pup applys barring only one additional piece of advice..........plenty of very VERY strong chew toys or like myself you'll lose a kitchen cabinet door during their first teething stage ?(

theyd be right ugly pups if he's breeding with them

think he actualy breeds english bull terriers not staffies
think he actualy breeds english bull terriers not staffies

he has also bread staffies aswell

they can be a very loyal family dog providing they are brought up right i.e not for fighting

can be antisocial with other dogs but introduce them to others from an early age then you should have no problems

if its a pedigree ask to look at the papers of the parent/s if they are available

find out if it will have had its first set if injections as a reputable breeder will have had these done (i.e kc registered if not you are dealing with a chav after a quick buck)

ask to see tyhe mother see if there is or has been any problems with her

as for raising lots of strong chew toys as said can be little b*****ds for chewing your house to pieces

and lots of walks as they are very energetic dogs other wise it will be a fat staffie and they do not in the slightist look good

but look after her/him right and they will be a good dog

also there are plenty of good staffordshire bull terrier books out there which offer great advice on training problems with the dog i.e illnesses

gotta disagree with ya there ross, simba being a prime example. he was tought NEVER beg for food, always put on his bed when we were eating, never allowed to snatch, always walked etc.

he was a fantastic dog, never mis-treated in any way and he turned on the little un :(

i know there is an exception to every rule, and regardless of how you treat them, if a dog feals threatened for whatever reason, he'll turn

as everyones already said really... look at the stance etc of mother...usually a good sign of what her pups will be like...

as before... beautiful dogs, one of the loyalist dogs you will find..

mine loves my kids and my kids love him...hes very protective of them, even around me!!!
