stevmo3691
I bought this car in july 07 to help a friend out so he wouldnt lose £250 (long story) but i ended up keeping it as it was a good car - only 59k on the clock, full service history and 2 owners.1991 j reg toyota corolla 1.6 executivehttp://i5.tagstat.com/image03/8/520f/000w001O58f.jpg and this is what happened after i fish tailed in jan 08. lost control and went 90 degrees into the side of an 07 mini. this is at the breakers yard i had to get the car taken too after the on time recovery took it to the depot and was told i couldnt remove my radio, speakers etc from the car. On time are the worst company i have come across, they had a lazy low loader driver who turned up at 3pm having been called for at 8.30am and wouldnt use his winch to pull my bros rover up when someone slashed all 4 tyres and caused my bro to burn his clutch out. http://i3.tagstat.com/image02/8/520f/0003001O58f.jpghttp://i0.tagstat.com/image04/8/520f/000X001O58f.jpghttp://i1.tagstat.com/image04/8/520f/000W001O58f.jpg believe it or not i was not injured at all and neither was the occupants of the mini, well till her mum turned up and she suddenly had whiplash

stevmo3691
no, posted this on jan 1st - pic is shown in my car history though This is the reason i will never have a smaller car, if i had been in fiesta, saxo etc i would have been injured, but as there was bout 2 miles of car i just got bit twisted

Its a last clue as of friend support car. Have it good.assuming your asking what i hit and how fast:i was travelling bout 35mph and car started fish-tailing, then swung to the right into the side of a mini then swung off that so that the n/side rear wheel hit high kerb which it also mounted which bent the rear hub. a part of the front suspension broke, although forgot which now as i wasnt really with it when the guy at the scrappy told me. KNITERIDER
so how the hell did it fishtale at such a low speed? unless there was a massive amount of standing water or a very sharp bend was taken to sharply? iv fishtaled rwd at this speed but have to push a fwd fairly hard to get it wiggling this slowly! LiamGTR
What is fishtailing? I've tried Google and TheFreeDictionary but can't find anything apart from it is like a tank slapper on a bike ? Edited April 7, 2010 by LiamGTR
KNITERIDER
What is fishtailing? I've tried Google and TheFreeDictionary but can't find anything apart from it is like a tank slapper on a bike ? BASICALLY YES. ID DESCRIBE IT AS LOOSING TRACTION ON ONE SIDE WHEN PUTTING POWER DOWN MEANING THE BACK END IS FIGHTING TO GET GRIP MEANING ITS (crap caps again!) going side to side at the back of the car hence fish tailing. the tank slapper is when it slips then grips again meaing you get thrown about. it can then turn into fishtailing. LiamGTR
So is fishtailing even possible in a FWD car ?
KNITERIDER
to a point yes. lose the back end and then catch grip again and you can fish tail.
