Lee R
You should be able to get an E46 for 2k.There's actually one for sale on the forums for £1,500, I'd take a look mate. Was thinking the same. This is high mileage E46 320D range. I have looked, but a friend who had a 525d with 150k odd on it, and it cost him an absolute fortune to maintain. A 320d auto just wouldn't be cheap enough for me to run, i'm sure of it.
sidrick
Can't possibly imagine it being more expensive than a Focus, but oh well.
Lee R
Can't possibly imagine it being more expensive than a Focus, but oh well. 10mpg less, £100 more to tax......for a start, then there's insurance. then there's the repair costs, but as said, thats going by my friends experience with his, and my experience with a Focus edit: just looked an the trader, nothing close enough under 130k, and I'm not going above that for anything. wwwd
I'd either go for a E46 or Lexis IS 200. As long as it's got full service history then I wouldn't worry about it, the engines are bulletproof.

Sorry, I didn't realise the E46 had 10mpg less, or the tax (I thought they had the same engine size). As for mileage..... pffffft sir, pfffffft! Lee R
the engines are bulletproof. agreed, but the rest isn't...at 150k my friends started falling apart... Don't get me wrong, they are great cars but i'm not gonna pay extra insurance, extra feul and tax for one that's been to the moon and back Lexus aint in the budget.
