LiamGTR
I've not long bought some 40mm rear/60mm front GMAX spring and shocks off Fekyo and would like some more pictures of how an Escort sits on a 40/60 drop as i'm thinking of swapping the 60mm fronts for 40mm (as I wouldn't want to go 60mm all round) if there is going to be a "nose dive" effect with the car Thanks
a93droptop
I`ve found that most escorts tend to sit higher at the front than the rear, even if you drop it 60mm all round! the front will look a little higher than the rear, if you look at other examples on other posts where guys have posted pics you`ll see what i mean, mine is down 40mm all round but as you can see the front looks higher hth http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v168/a93droptop/AJP/esc903.jpg

shawdreamer
I'm not too fussed about the front looking higher aslong as the car is level ? from personal experience Liam, on a equal drop all round on just springs the nose does not just look higher, it often is notably higher than the rear. -35/40 its visable -60 it cant be missed or ignored (seriously effects handling imo) I originally dropped my old Si -40 on just gmax springs and it constantly looked like it was pulling away at full throttle even when standing still. When I did a comparative measurement to standard springs the rear of the car was dropped 1" 1/4 more than the front. I ended up chopping standard rears and having them heated, recoiled and pulled to get the level right again when I went for -60 I first tried springs on standard shocks to see the effect and it was more or less a exagerated effect of the -40's on standard shocks....obviously I ended up using aftermarket shocks and springs to get it right.
