killalot
If you buy a new rear wheel arch do you have to cut the old one off?My uncle said you just weld the new one over the old one.Always thought you had to cut the old one off.
Rob01
Is your uncle John Wayne by any chance? You probably can weld over the old one but it'll stick out far and keep rotting - whereas if you cut out the old one out you have frash clean metal to play with + it'll be neater when done correctly. Lee_2f2f
Your uncle is telling you how to do a bodge job and also incorrectly. Cut it out... as said, otherwise it will just keep rotting and look crap.

Ive seen them in both thin steel and rally fibreglass (the latter I assume is a direct replacement for lightened rally cars) the first thin steel version is designed as a skin rather than a panel. havnt seen em for a few years tho and havnt a clue who made em?
