ZeTeC101
Hi. would like to know every time i put a cone filter on my car(ive had 3 escorts) abouuht after a month after putting it on the idleing goes high and low at stops! Now i know cone filter sucks hot air in, but does it suck to much air in for the computer to manage with? Now for my question how much air can standard computer adjust to intake with increasing more fuel? And is one box enough back pressure on a car? sidrick
The ECU will adjust the fueling to suit the volue of air the air flow meter(I assume yours is connected?) indicates is reaching the engine. Is the cone filter one that you have to oil? shawdreamer
this is just confusing so lets see if I can just straighten it all out. 1. a cone filter in good condition will not effect your idle in the way described2. the cars ecu will automatically balance the fuel air mix whatever type air filter is attached3. your idle issue sounds like a ICV problem which has been addressed 100 feckin times on ere.....do a search with the symptoms ffs4. If youve unpluged the Mass airflow meter or worse removed it then your an idiot and should not be touching anything under the bonnet full feckin stop
ZeTeC101
lmfao! i didnt do that! my icv was cleaned out! i wouldve maybe just thought its because mounting cone filter directly to maf

Stu
The cone isn't letting more air through so it's no problem.
