only rover engines are 1.1, 1.4, 1.6, 1.8 4 cylinder K-series engines, a 2.0 and .5 V6 k-series and 2.0 and 2.0 turbo T-series engines. one from 600 series were all honda engined excpet the 620ti which used the 2.0 turbo t-series.

the work involved gettin that to fit and run, you might aswell build up a 2.0 zetec turbo

right guys, just to settle the rover 2.3 thing. i saw it in either fast ford or some other ford mag about three or four years ago, it was probably the honda engine but obviously it said rover 2300 on the plug cover. it produced around 178 bhp as far as i remember and it was a rolling road feature. reason i was asking is because i was thinking about this idea and started looking at pics of the rover 600 ti engine bay, and it looks like a similar set up , transverse , twin cam etc. i was thinking maybe the intercooler sits a bit far forward for the escort but, maybe pipes could be replaced etc etc. i could probably pick up a rover 600 ti for around £250-£300 so thought it might be an idea, as i have a fair bit of experience in engine transplants as i have always changed my own. i also have experience with engine bay conversions from when i built a series 1 turbo mk3 van 10 years ago, so i thought , with some good planning and a few days HARD graft, it could be a very cheap way of doing a good , powerful conversion to a 200 bhp standard engine, with room to take the power up a fair bit more using simple cheap mods. its an idea , but nothing concrete, just wondered if anyone knew of this or a similar conversion being done. after all, with time and effort, you can put anything you want on/in any car , right guys ??:) tell me what you think . cheers, jay.

with time and effort, you can put anything you want on/in any car , right guys ?? for instance, ford focus/ volvo engine :P = awesome car imo

i have probably still got the mag somewhere, so if i can find it i will post the pics from the mag of the 2.3 lump. it could have been performance ford too, i cant remember .

You say you have a lot of experience of engine transplants, but then ask if this is possible?... anything is possible with enough money and effort.

it was more to see if anyone else had done it or new of anyone, and to see what problems may arise . that was all

MEOW lol :P
