Mondeo engine swap

A bit off topic, but i ain't getting any joy on the mondeo forum.

I need to do an engine swap on my mothers mondeo which is a 2.0 black top zetec, i have the chance of a couple of complete mondeos for scrap money but none being a 2.0 black top, what i need to know is what would be entailed in fitting either a 1.8 black top, or a 1.8 or 2.0 silver top, and how different are the silver a black tops to each other.

You're entering a world of pain by contemplating putting a silver top into a later car. Stick with the black top. Differences are engine mount, ancilleries, water pump/location, sump.. it'll be a royal PITA.

 

You can usually pick up black top zetecs for about £100?
