So, I passed my test in 2002, had my Mini as my first car, started life as a pretty standard 1.0l Mini, spent god knows how much on it.

Took the Mini off the road as I was going to restore it so bought a 1995 306 Cabriolet, good in the summer, surprisingly good fun in the winter!

Then, part-xd the 306 for a 1996 Volvo 850 T5 Auto in top spec CD trim, was top of the range model apparently. Absolutley loved that car, went everywhere in that, including a spur of the minute 1100 mile trip to France with 4 other mates, (a 27 hour trip I'll not forget in a hurry!)

Then, I wanted something diesel for some reason, so bought a 2001 Audi A6 TDi, nice car, comfortable, good mpg, but i got bored quick.

Along came my Escort van for work, I loved it despite it being a non turbo, I wish i had kept it and put in a 2.0l zetec.

Sold the A6 in favour of a Honda Accord Type R, one of the best kept secrets of the car world, seriously, you have to try one!

Escort Van was sold in favour of a LWB Vauxhall Vivaro, (realistically, i needed a bigger van)

As the Accord was getting close to 10 years old, I wanted something newer, so sold it and bought an Audi A4 Avant 2.0T FSI S-Line. Again, had every option box ticked, I wish I never sold it, (Infact, I was following it earlier today!)

In between all of the above, the Mini had been through a full restoration, so got that back on the road last year.

For some stupid reason, I decided I wanted something Italian and different, cue the biggest money pit known to man, a Maserati 3200 GT Auto. Nice when it worked, but bloody expensive to run and keep on the road. I honestly don't know why i sold the Audi for it, it was a BIG mistake.

Because the Maserati was useless in the snow, lets face it, 370bhp through 265/35/18 rear tyres and an Auto box isn't the best combo for snow, I bought a 1998 Escort GTI 3dr, (only just sold last week)

So as of last week, I decided to let the Maserati go, so now my daily runner is a 2003 Range Rover 4.4 V8 Vogue

So there we go, I don't think I've missed any.

Cheers people

Yeah still got the Mini, it's my retirement fund! Don't think I'll ever sell it to be honest.

Craig - I loved the Volvo, but, I was a bit let down by the engine note, My dad used to have a 2.5 10v n/a estate as a workhorse, the engine note was awesome, T5 was still nice, but muted by the turbo I think.

Yeah I love my engine note (2.0 10V, it has a drilled airbox and piperx panel with a standard exhaust) and it sounds fantastic. Deep and rumbly but a low volume, and the induction noise after 3.4k rpm is great through my drilled box and panel filter.

When i replace it with a T5 or R I'll use the same filter and drilled airbox under the bonnet but i think ill have to sort an aftermarket exhaust out, and definately blank the recirc valve. Compressor stall will make up for any lack of bass that im used to.
