Craig855S
So you just paid over the odds for a 1.4CL? or LX or whatever spec theyre identical to? Surely they have white dials? (But so do the 1600 Sis which include better seats and a steering wheel too)
dutchkev
the 1.4 and 1.6 GTi's where no special to any other cars, no white dials, no fogs etc, just a name ford put to the car!
Craig855S
Cheeky little fuckers! It was only a few dealerships who done it wasnt it. Laughing all the way to the bank.
LiamGTR
I'm sure there is another thread on this, and there was only ONE dealer who done it
shawdreamer
I honestly dont see why everyones suprised by ford slapping Gti badges on non Gti spec cars......theyve been doing it for years with "special editions" how many special edition fords can honestly really put a claim to the "special" title? my mk5b (previously phils) is apparently a "special edition" and the only thing special Ive found on it is that it completely lacked any and all the things that come standard on most escorts. lecky windows.... nocentral locking.... nohigher spec interior/trim..... LOL NOlecky mirrors.... noadjustable steering column.... nohigher spec dash.... no infact it lacked even the minimal spec that comes with most CL's yet its badged and registered as "special edition" Edited February 6, 2010 by shawdreamer
LiamGTR
You mean there is an even lower spec than an Encore? Get in! Dont you see shaw, thats why it was special, because it had nothing Edited February 6, 2010 by LiamGTR

Dont you see shaw, thats why it was special, because it had nothing cosmetically and electrically its now atleast equal to a Gti (after I added RCL, elec. mirrors, one-off wingback 1/2 leather interior) just a shame it wont match and/or surpass the Gti in mechanics till the Rst go's into it Special edition people often lack basic things most people have... big mouthed people often park their cars in fields... Craig855S
My first escort was a special edition. It was special because...... It had leccy front windows, colourcoded non fog front bumper, choice of 2 special paint colours....but other than that, it was an encore Im talking about the freedom which was a 1.4 only, 5 door only mk6 available in mint green or that funny purple colour

LiamGTR
What is a supliment?Supplement? Not sure, I was just quoting Stoney: Might have an unregistered GTI engine init ? So he has advertised it as a GTI but hasn't declared it to the DVLA yet, hence it still being a CL on the books.... means not declaired so wouldnt say on new keepers supliment it was a gti Only supplements I know of are nutrients so you have the bare with me, lol
