My MK5 RS2000 Project

Hello! I haven't been around the Ford scene or the forum for absolutely ages! Thought I should return to the forum since I now own another Blue Oval! Here is my little project I bought in October 2009.

Previous to this I owned a Honda CRX which as much as I loved the handling, the power etc, it just wasn't the same as RS badge'd Blue Oval!

The car as it stands at the minute is lowered 40mm, sat on 17inch alloys, has a Magnex exhaust system and a modified front grille.

Here is some pictures of how it stands;

I owned the car for 4 days, and then disaster struck! A white van man hit the drivers side of the car and left some nasty damage. It had a very sharp "V" dent from under the wing mirror, right back to the filler cap, destroyed the lock, killed the rub strips and the force of the impact caused the area surrounding the door lock to be pushed back towards the B pillar. I had a friend repair the car to a pretty high standard but that drained funds as it was "Chrimbo" time.

Future plans;

-Standard/Cosworth Grill

-Standard RS2000 alloys

-Repair the rust around the spoiler/tailgate

-Standard fuel filler cap (has a stainless one right now)

-Plenty of engine chrome/powder coating etc

-Possibly a leather re-trim

-Engine upgrades as I want more power, but not sure on the route I am going yet....

I will update the thread as I go, whether that be detailing sessions (as I'm a clean freak!), upgrading sessions or random days out!

Thanks for looking guys and girls and I look forward to any comments!

Sean

The dials are really bad! It's not off smoke, someone tried to die a set of dials and pretty much made a royal f*ck up of it!

Sure it's a dye? A lot of the old cheap white dial kits fade like that in the sun!

I've got a mint set of 5 mk5 rs2000 rims with all new tyres if you're interested bud. theve been polished and ill sell em for £125, gotta be worth 25 a wheel with new tyres. 2 of the tyres are goodyears and the other 3 are budget. 195/50/15s.

Car looks the balls btw, did you make that grill yourself??

Yeah, had a proper look at them and it's a little streaky in places where it has ran.

I'm not bad mate, yourself?

You gonna be going to croft this year, or any of the other shows?

I'm good mate, can't complain too much really!

Should be at Croft for sure as its my local RSOC day (however not sure whether I'll be on their "stand", on track, or what!)

Going to try doing a few shows like FITP, National Day etc etc. Need to see how funds lie first though.

Pictures of the wheels? I'm sorely tempted, but am a little skint at the minute being just after Christmas and booking a holiday!

Grill was already on the car when I bought it, but is stupidly easy to make, its a standard MK5 grill, cut out and meshed! Nothing to it really!
