Well seeing as Fords system & The insurance database are both bringing up no answers... especially ford seeing as it is one of there cars........

It must be a ringer...... Either that or it is an import, then there could be a reason as to why no results show.

You never know, somebody miht have actually been daft enough to give for a lump sum and asked them to shell out a Escort in 2002.

Somebody has just done this on the GTROC and has a brand new '09 R32 GTR as a special order to Nissan....cost him an absolute fortune though, but now owns the mintest/cleanest R32 in the world re: condition of the thing.

Don't think anyone would be that stupid to shell out to ford to make a one off 2002 escort Liam, if that was the case, they would shell out and have it more than a LX, or Flight whichever it is.

There were some 5 door shells knocking around on eBay some time ago. It's quite possible someone has built one up.

There are always late registrations though, for one reason or another. Usually a year or two after production you'll see some.

This 02 plate car doesn't surprise me.

My mate done this a few years ago actually (not with an escort)

He had a mk4 astra and wrote it off drunk (hence why insurance wouldnt look at it), it was about a year old and the mk5 had been released but he managed to get a bare mk4 shell from vauxhall ,transplanted all the components that he could and replaced the parts that were ruined and when he was finished the car was registered as brand new again. Expensive mistake mind but cheaper than buying a complete new astra again
