mike, are you covered to drive other cars? if so you can have a quick go in my bmw 318is coupe. or il take you out in it (just need a new back wheel!!) thats the e36 4 cylinder 140bhp engine btw see if you like it before spending out? it'l go sideways all day long in the wet but you wont get much in the dry in standard form at any sort of speed (2nd gear and the entry to 3rd gear on a hard turn is its limit sideways really and it wont stay there long in the dry) and lsd are ni on impossible to get for the 318's so may be better off going for the bigger engine.

theres the 328's which are stil cheap can get lsd's for them easy enough and with a upgraded inlet manifold go from (iirc) 197bhp to around 220bhp as they are restricted (anything in germany over 200bhp carries a tax when sold new)

but either way have a go in mine. itl do its thing in a car park and handels like its on rails especially with the mspec suspension, shifts if you use the revs (for a big car thats not high powered) and the gears are fairly close together so you get more kick. in the wet you will have a ball...or a spin

ps i NEED an e30 in my life!

Mine has an LSD and I was under the impression it was fairly (if not totally) standard on European 318is's :-\ Maybe I'm mistaken.

As for letting him test drive your E36... it won't give him much of an indication of what the E30 318is will be like. The E30 feels a lot faster and is a lot more fun.

from all the reading ive done there pretty rare as they were an extra and not a cheap oneee and most didnt bother, never seen one for sale :(

i know mine doesnt have one from being in the snow and only one wheel spinning up hencw getting stuck alot lol

i thought he was looking at e36's to? still a big step up from driving escorts and cheaper cars, thats the reason i got one after driving one then having to get back into a little peugeot, theres no contest in quality and comfort...that red e30 is singing out to me tho, if i had the spare cash id buy it and put my e36 up for sale rite now!

I may have missed it in the fuzz, but what is the purpose of the car? I hope you're not going to 'rat' a cossie!

Nah, rat is over and done with now.

The purpose of this car is to get the feel of drift but yet at the same time have something looking good.

I don't fancy the chances of me having a cossie now as it would just get trashed.

Ross - thanks for offer of the drive but my heart is now totally set on the E30 in so many ways.

Hi all

I have had this car for a few months now and have done nothing with it so it may as well go to someone who can use it.

It is a 1988/F 316 (non injected) which comes as standard with a 1766cc carb'd engine.

It is a manual 2 door car.

Mileage is 127k and i have lots of history and old m.o.t's etc.

It has had just 2 previous owners.

The current m.o.t is until July 28th and the road tax is until the 31st of March.

It starts, stops and drives as it should with no serious mechanical problems. The engine, clutch, gearbox and final drive are all in decent fettle.

The bodywork is generally very solid with no structual rust around the scuttle or the other prone areas on the e30.

It does have a few small surface scabs mainly on the drivers side rear arch but this is cosmetic and an easy fix for anyone handy with a bit of filler and a spray can.

Its been on the road for 22 years so there are of course a few small car park dings but again easy to sort.

The car isn't blessed with a very high spec but there is less to go wrong and it keeps the weight down Smile

There is no power steering or electric windows but it does have a manual sunroof and e/mirrors and central locking.

Inside is all good except for the drivers seat which is worn as you can see from the pictures. These are dirt cheap and easy to source.

When i bought it i had planned on putting a larger engine in it as it is a good solid car but work and other things taking my time have meant that this hasn't happened and is unlikely to ever happen.

All in all a good, cheap step on to the e30 ladder and there is potential to make the car worth a lot more with a little tlc.

I need it out of the way so the price is a very reasonable £675 which isn't bad for an un-molested manual, black 2 door e30.

A decent deposit will hold it until month end if required but none of the 'dibs' nonsense as i can't bank promises.

My number is 07718 901737

Pics below taken this morning and please excuse the mud etc as it is too cold out there to be washing and hoovering cars!

Cheers Jules...

Well the cheaper ones (500 pounds and less) are just rotten bits of crap with no MOT/TAX

If the facelift version is just a difference in bumpers it doesn't matter really because i would like M3 bumpers on it with the arches etc.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

Its just sold now anyways before i even got chance to arrange to go see it. fucks sake.
