LiamGTR
I'm getting a sort of "shhhhhhhhh" noise when I brake and it's coming from the rear, would it be possible it's just the shoes or the drums themselves, or both? I know it's not coming form the front as they are brand new (only fitted on Sat) and the sound is definitely coming from the rear (seems like the rear left more but might just be my ears ) I will be taking it down to Carl on Friday (again ) and getting him to check it out anyway and fix it but just so I get a rough idea of the cost as the drums seem to be pretty expensive but shoes aren't too bad so obviously hopin it's only the shoes. Escort_Kid
In the majority of cases its just the brake shoes that have worn down to either nothing or onto the rivets, not a big job to sort
LiamGTR
That's what I like to hear Although not a "big job" as you say, i'll more than likely still let Carl do it. Cheers
SteveB
Could just be a build up of dust. I've not seen rivets on a brake shoe for years, so when they go you get steel to steel and they really grind.

Still a fair few cars with rivets coming into the garage these days
Scort_CVH
Same as above mate, drums take ages to go and is usually because of damage, like leaving shoes to go to metal etc.
