My 94' MK5b 1.8 16v

Hello all Escort owners. I finally got my dream car: a 94' MK5b coupe 1.8 16v Escort CLX. The car is great, no major mechanical/rust problems. My plans for the future are big but since in romania we don't have good garages or mechanics i probably will end up doing most of the work myself.

Thank you all, I want to ask you how can i raise the power of my little 1.8? I have in mind 2 options: Turbocharger or aspirated with little tricks like camshafts, taking off the catalistic convertor, intake, exaust etc....

I could use some advice from you guys. Another thing that i don't know is how could I convert the rear brake drums to disk.

Welcome. For the rear brakes you need to find an escort with discs already. Take the whole rear beam off ( Two main bolts where it fixes to the car and bolts where it joins the bottom of the suspension strut. Think thats all!) Remove and replace on yours. Oh and as far as I'm aware you'll need a different handbrake cable. Someone else must be able to say which one. People would recommend some braided brake hoses whilst your doing it too. :thumb: Someone feel free to add if i've forgotton anything.
