Is it 4 flashes short pause 4 flashes short pause, or is it 4 flashes short pause 4 flashes long pause - that is single digit (4) or double digit (44)?

Hmm, pass, I will have to check that on my way home. What does the 4 or 44 actually mean ?

Got a GTi interior?

Bolt off the seats and check all the yellow cables are plugged in properly, this is what causes the flashing airbag light.

nope, just the bog standard "encore" interior. I think its the most basic of basic models, wind up windows, no central locking, nothing........

4 means Safing Sensor - Diagnostic Circuit Open or Low Primary Crash Sensor Resistance

44 means Primary Crash Sensor (drivers side) - Not Mounted to Vehicle Properly

Given what you have been doing it's more likely code 4 - you've accidentally pulled a wire off.

It was code 4. I unplugged the yellow leads from the front seats and plugged them back in, all is well with the little ford again now.

Thanks for the help guys............
