Simon69
Guys im sorry about this but i seem to be asking loads of questions and getting nothing done at the Moment. Im trying to gather all the Info get everything i need and then get to work if that makes sense. What do i need to make my Escort Van Mk6 have central Locking and Elec Winows. Id like if Possible to be able to remove the Lock off the back doors cover up the hole and make that central locking too thanks really sorry about the questions
Simon69
i have a dilemma. i have a center switch on its way for both elec windows and rear door release. my plan is to get a tailgate for the back of the van and use the door release button for that but thats another time. ive been looking around for the Electric window motors and ive found a guy who supplies them however its just the motor and the parts that hold and lift the window plus 3 wires he told me to use the center switch will be a pain to wire and suggested i get 2 new doors with the electric windows and central locking all ready in them and ready to be fitted to the van, the problem is the doors are Black my van is red. should i go with the doors already wired up for both windows and central locking or should i just go for the window motors and get them wired up myself
shawdreamer
i have a dilemma. i have a center switch on its way for both elec windows and rear door release. my plan is to get a tailgate for the back of the van and use the door release button for that but thats another time.should be a simple job with a bit of simple bracket fabrication for the solonoid popper when you get round to it ive been looking around for the Electric window motors and ive found a guy who supplies them however its just the motor and the parts that hold and lift the window plus 3 wires thats all you should need, ford tend to position there motors and manual levers in the same place in the door so aslong as you get the motor with the runner and cables still connected from another similiar model its a relatively simple wiring job.he told me to use the center switch will be a pain to wire true, a simpler universal window wiring kit would be a better option and suggested i get 2 new doors with the electric windows and central locking all ready in them thats bollix...its simpler to just swap out the internals to your own door and ready to be fitted to the van, the problem is the doors are Black my van is red. should i go with the doors already wired up for both windows and central locking or should i just go for the window motors and get them wired up myself I chose the latter but!.... dont bother trying to use Ford OEM wiring it'll just complicate issues, instead opt for the purpose made universal kits thats you can get readily available on ebay and the like in addition its of note that I myself have done exactly what your wanting in my current mk5b, both windows converted to electrics and Central remote locking added, I used universal purpose made wiring kits for both and have no issues at all so its perfectly plausable to assume you can accomplish it too
