digi clock question in my van

My van comes with digi clocks but no rev counter, so if i swap them over to ones equipped with it will they work or is the more wiring needed

iirc wiring will be needed, i THINK its either 1 wire from the ECU or 1 wire from the altenator - i think its a wire from the ECU :thumb:

It's a straight swap - I did this in my X reg escort van.

Rev counter works straight off - although you can't swap the mileage.

i hope its ok to add to this thread and sorry if its been covered (i missed it)

basically i dont understand

In the van mk6 i have the standard black faced clocks but i really want to convert them to white and add blue or red LEDs.

on the clocks in the van at the moment the Trip mielage and normal Mileage counter are in Digi mode, most of the white faced clocks ive seen here or on ebay have the revolving counter, is it possible to get clocks with the digi counter or do i have to convert as per this thread.

basically i have no idea what to do

If your van has digital black face clocks, (when I say digital, I'm referring to the mileage display) you can swap them for white face digital clock from a late model Escort with rev counter, should plug straight in and even the rev counter will operate.

That's assuming Ford fitted white face digital clocks to late model Escorts. Otherwise, you can use the white face digital clocks from a Ford Puma, its my believe these will also plug straight in.

Otherwise, you will have to follow these instructions:

I hope this answers your question?

I'm sure if my answer is wrong, there will be someone on here that will correct me!

You got it right!

White clocks were found in pumas and also late mark 4 / early mark 5 fiestas.

They fit straight in but you cannot change the mileage over.

Even petrol > diesel works fine.
