wwwd
What do I need to do? Is it simply a case of walking into the bank with an old statement, show them my passport then bish bash bosh? There's also about 20 quid left in there I'll want too.

Haych
walk in and ask to close the account. they may ask for ID / bank card. If you want the £20 draw it out beforehand or they send you a "closing cheque" (natwest did with me for 2p ) very simple to do

I haven't used it in ages and they didn't send me a card when it was due for renewal a couple of years ago. Weird.
Haych
if thats the case, you may need to write to them. Try going in with the bank statement, its worth a go I suppose. They may have made it a "redundant account" as its not been used. Either way you are entitled to close it. It may be able to be sorted in branch if not by post. Brylt
You would be better off just leaving it redundant, you may find you want to use it again if you fall out with your current bank. Bryan

Hezz
you would just need to write to them, they would send you a cheque in return to the address they have on record for you
