rufio_gti
I've got the chance to buy some mondeo alloys for my gti. Now the wheels look the same but ones an inch bigger. I just need some advice as to would it be worth buying them. Would my car look any different from what it does now? Sorry don't think it's in the right place could someone move it please
LiamGTR
If I had 15's I personally wouldn't buy them, just for an extra 1", your car will still look exactly the same i think
dutchkev
if the tyre size is correct for an escort, then yes i would
danposs86
Tyres for 15s are cheaper.
Craig855S
ProsThey do look better, so long as theyre on the right tyres ConsOn the wrong tyres they look a bit balooony (chances are theyll come with 50 or even 55 profile tyres)More expensive to purchase new tyres for Its up to you really but id definately go for the 16s, the pro outweighs the cons every day
rufio_gti
What profile tyre would look good then? Tyres will be needed anyway so I've taken them into consideration when buying the wheels

dutchkev
I would go with 195/45/16. Puely becuase it won't scrub on full lock, also if you have 5 wheels, it'll fit in the spare wheel well. But it's up to you, you won't get as much tram lining with 195/45 either

LiamGTR
If you're geting them then go for 195's, they have a VERY SLIGHT stretch to them and it looks a lot better than 205's
ollie mk5 turbo
I run 215/40/16 on the 7j Mondeo alloys. Dont have any problems with scrubbing.http://lh6.ggpht.com/_78-fCC5CP3U/SgcgAkt0swI/AAAAAAAACVE/eaJYic6J8zQ/s912/DSC02497.JPG http://lh3.ggpht.com/_78-fCC5CP3U/S3BF1jw88jI/AAAAAAAADNM/otF6EmidxuQ/2010-02-07%2013.22.50.jpg http://lh6.ggpht.com/_78-fCC5CP3U/S3BF1N09_RI/AAAAAAAADNI/YIM0SGdCSaY/2010-02-07%2013.22.35.jpg
Haych
I think 195 looks better - it takes the gap from the arches away - even if it isnt lowered the wheels seem to fit better
