Haych
not a chance never pay by cash or bank transfer as its not secure He has to prove he sent it (which is near on impossible) and not a leg to stand on your bro is in the clear. but he should have claimed the money as his own. sounds daft that he would say it was someone elses. I can also see why the guy is so pissed off - to him it sounds like your bro is robbing him blind
Craig855S
n impossible) and not a leg to stand on your bro is in the clear. but he should have claimed the money as his own. sounds daft that he would say it was someone elses. I can also see why the guy is so pissed off - to him it sounds like your bro is robbing him blind Agreed, however, why did this ebay guy send ur bro cash? What was he buying from your bro? Maybe your bro should just send the goods along and make that do? If this fella didnt even buy something from your bro but posted him money for nothing then the guy is a class A idiot The whole thing sound too crazy to be true frankly Edited February 24, 2010 by Craig855S
PeeWee
Sounds bizzare really & im not sure what to make of it. How did this guy get gis address & more important why send the cash. Then theres the bizzare situation of telling the insurance someone elses cash was stolem, why in the world would he say that???
EscortNreg
IF this did all happen as you say it did, IE he sent money by "mistake" then the bloke legally has no leg to stand on. But logically speaking, he does know your brothers address!
eetaylog
Sounds like theres more to this story than youre letting on.
badboybulldog
hi the reason he sent the cash is my bro sold him some scrap gold a few weeks before on ebay and he said he sent it by mistake as he had his details on the computer still i no it sounds crazy but it did happen

badboybulldog
he paid him for the gold yes then he sent the other cash by mistake he said he sent it to the wrong person the only reason the money was in the house is that my bro was going to post it back to him on the monday morning

bluliz
Thats a nice little scam. Buy something expensive on ebay, pay once, then send a wedge of cash by post, go round break in steal the cash few other bits car etc. Then bitch about the money that you havent recieved back, get the another batch of cash sent back, leaving the scammed person few hundred down, carless, with a fooked insurance claim and a trashed house. Just too convienient that someone broke in and found the money (pinching the gold is an easy "make it look like a general break in"....Obviously the house was a little messed up?? or did it appear that the money was easily found? Of course these is an entirely different angle on this aswell.... Edited February 25, 2010 by bluliz

Of course these is an entirely different angle on this aswell.... I've just clicked this and come back to the topic to put it out there... Seen an episode of crime watch last year where a bloke who traded gold online got held up at knife point buy some lowlifes who found out he was trading in gold by getting his address from ebay (clearly sold him a small amount or bought some from him) They went to his house and simply said "Gimme the gold" The took thousands of pounds of bullion IIRC This could well be what has happened to your bro, does your bro have their address? Craig855S
Could send the cops round their house? Or just take a peek round yourself? See if a certain escort is anywhere nearby?
