dutchkev
first place to check is the 3 pins on the boot and the 3 contact pads on the bottom bit. make sure the 3 pins are clean, move freely and arnt bent. secondly make sure the 3 contact pads are clean and shiny, if they're dull, get some sandpaper on the pin tips and conctact pads and scrub intill shiney if all that is done, and it still dont work, take the boot trim off, and look at the 3 wires connected to the 3 pins, make sure none of the wires have snapped, mainly the middle one as this carries the current for the heated rear screen last option is to make sure its earthed properly, there are 2 earth points, one on the left side of the boot, take the screw off, make sure there is no rust, clean and the pad off and re-fit. the second earth point is the boot hinges, make sure they.re clean gice the pins a knock left and right with a hammer to loosen them off and free them of rust also make sure all the switches are working

bullsrs
my old si had the same problem, i did what dutch kev has told you to do and it was fine, then the contacts corroded again so i re-cleaned them and coated them and the 3pins in grease and everything worked fine
