marshy Posted March 6, 2010 Share Posted March 6, 2010 im getting that way about my car again with all the recent happenings.. im debating on wether to keep my car or not first of all..after recently changing droplinks,lower arms,drivers hub.. im still getting a knocking/creaking noise coming from the front end..i know you guys said change arb bushes.. and my mechanic thinks its either an extended subframe.. or play in PS rack.. i need new brake pads on front,and a new drivers door (rust worm )and ive just had tracking done today and it still feels twitchy when applying brake or accelerating and slightly pulls to leftso i dont really be wanting to plough money into it.. but i need to as i need the car on daily basis. ive contemplated selling up,but the way it is atm even with all mods... it can only be worth £500-6/700??so to get a decent price id have to repair it (thinking around £800??)i could break it but i havent got the time or patience with it atmand breaking would fetch me 3-400?? im looking at newer cars (but dont really wanna drop below a 1.8 as ive got used to the power now ) IE mk2 (st shape) focus' but i could only afford one on HP.. (as theyre the only shape focus i like)or mondeo st24s,but the insurance may cripple me (£364 FC on my escort compared to a 2.5 v6)and im not overly keen on the length/size of them..theres no other newer cars i like tbh.. and i want to try differnt makes.. but not sure whats good for realiability without high repair costs/parts cost..im im really a ford man at heart was thinking rs escort (as im after a 3dr) or gti.. but theyre escorts again and will have the same problems(and my luck aint exactly been brilliant with escorts! )i would buy the likes of richie si's escort.. (as its been looked after etc) but its the price and i cant really buy nothing without selling minecatch 22 swings and roundabouts anyways thats my rant over with what are you guys thoughts???
