Posted March 15, 201014 yr Some fookers dented the Civic on the door and a guys coming to pick it up in the next few days - i'd rather not take it to the body shop to youtubed 'car dent removal' and there's a ton of vids that show heating the panel up then applying compressed air (keyboard air dusters upside down) and the contraction make the metal pop back....so long as it aint creased - which mine aint..... has anybody tried this before?
March 15, 201014 yr I trierd it, didn't work for me but my dent was mahoosive , on modern cars though with there thinner doorskins then it may stand more of a chance, it's definately a sound theory and has the potential to work (clearly as these guys in the vids make it work)

I suggest you just push it out from behind for best result.
March 15, 201014 yr Author this is of a foot - so arounda foot long and 15cm wide right in th middle of the doro
March 16, 201014 yr this is of a foot - so arounda foot long and 15cm wide right in th middle of the doro good enough size, best place (in the middle of a large panel) should work fine...... I used one of those pointless small car co2 fire extinguishers to cool (technically the same as most of those videos show just easier to get your hands on), was on a rear panel of a transit van so more or less the same size as you'll be dealing with.
March 16, 201014 yr Author AH never thought of fire extiguisers....had my arse frozen solid buy one of those fookers so know they're cold if too close haha... was in asda yesterday to buy the air duster....£5!!!!!!!1
March 18, 201014 yr if you now any1 who fits car windscreens borrow one of there suction pads then pop it on and it should hopefully just pop out
March 18, 201014 yr you know any plumbers ? , borrow a tin of that stuff they use to freeze pipes up... gonna work a lot better than any stuff used to blow crap out your keyboard or >> fleabay Edited March 18, 201014 yr by duffa

March 19, 201014 yr This could damage the paint though, air dusters sprayed upside down are cold, but that freezing spray is gonna be fooooking freezing. not really, nearly the same tempreture acheived with the Co2 which is coincidently a higher tempreture than modern paints are tested to, only nitrogen would be sufficeint enough low temp to cause the paint to become brittle and snap away from the metal surface. Im a 11yr time served mechanical/heating & aircon engineer by trade and on the rare occasions Ive used the aerosol freezing method its often been against delicate paintwork which is no where near as resiliant as auto paint .
