Posted March 22, 201014 yr I know we all know that petrol prices are through the roof, BUT in the last two weeks it has gone up 5p a ltr around here, i only do about 25 miles a day, commute to work, (better off than most I know), I filled up this saturday 24.oo, so call it 25.00 a week just to get to work, thats 100.00 a month out of my wage before i even start, and there will be another 3p going on in April thanks to the last governments budget, let alone what they will do this budget!!!!, but just remember we are out of re-sesion yes right:nutter: sorry rant over jsut had to vent that
March 22, 201014 yr Author It's only going to get worse, so better get used to it. yes I know, wife and i running two cars, thinking of getting rid of the scort (dont want to), but wifes car is newer, and she does less miles, thinking of getting a moped to cut cost, bloody government Still only 113.9 around here, that'll do me nicely. watches this space for another petrol rant in a week or so
March 22, 201014 yr join the club mate, £30 a week for me to get to work ha, £85 for me, even in an escort or similar mpg car it cost at least 50-60 quid a week not including other commuting, i usually use a tank and a half a week.

March 22, 201014 yr meh, we'll continue to moan, yet it'll continue to rise and we'll continue to pay it, its fate - you cant fight fate! best option is switch to a diesel with better mpg! Edited March 22, 201014 yr by dutchkev
March 22, 201014 yr i used to work in brum, when the fuel was at its highest last time from bone dry my pug 306 1.9 turbo diesel would do me a week on a tank (just) at 60-70quid a tank and at the time i was only on 12k a year, with bills and other out goings i was getting near enough exactly £100 a month of my own money, i was basically paying to go to work near enough. i earn a bit more now but it still hurts. im trying to get all my debts sorted asap that way i only have my rent and fuel (mot tax) to worry about i could get a moe economical car than i have but either way work would always be expensive, a pug 106 1.5 dieslel would still cost 40-50 quid a week lol
March 22, 201014 yr you need a VW polo bluewhatever - 75+ mpg the pug 1.5 does that if you drive it rite...but 0-60 in a week gets to much, id rather pay the extra and actually enjoy driving to work. saying that im sure there are plenty of cars that are quicker than mine and beat my current "18.3 miles to the gallon"
March 22, 201014 yr plenty bud lol i dont know what they are mind not bothered either way as i like it. once all the nigly bits are done il be more than happy with it...an engine freshen up and some kind of turbo/supercharger could make it more fun tho in the future
March 22, 201014 yr We're not out of the recession, there's at least another couple of years before we fully recover. But I too, hate filling up.
March 22, 201014 yr from what i understand, in january, spending etc etc all went up by 0.1% therefore we were coming out of a recession...the trouble is, of course spending and profit would go up...we just had christmas and new year, bet it tumbled after!
