devman
First car – 1987 Mini City E 1.0 Manual. Bought for 500, wrote it off http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g91/dev_man_2001/n536230253_334622_5636.jpg Replaced it with this immaculate low mileage 1997 Mini Equinox 1.3i http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g91/dev_man_2001/n536230253_334623_5881.jpg Then in a moment of madness decided I wanted a Capri. Bought this 1986 2.0 Laser.http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g91/dev_man_2001/n536230253_334541_2215.jpg Got a couple of years of driving under my belt, and Tesco said they’d insure me on an XR3i. So I ran out and bought one, £1000 and it was probably the most unreliable car I’ve had! New gearbox, welding EVERYWHERE, and blew the head gasket twice. Scrapped it in the end. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g91/dev_man_2001/n536230253_334542_2515.jpg Got given this by my Uncles mate. 1994 1.8 Ghia. He’d had it up for £300, then the MOT ran out so he wanted shot. I MOT’d it and polished it and got the £300 for myself. Lovely jubbly.http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g91/dev_man_2001/untitled-1.jpg Was about this time I bought a 1994 Rover 416SLi off my mate for £25. 220,000 miles, been sitting under a tree for nearly 2 years. Towed it home, new rotor arm, charged the battery and away it went. Stuck a half leather interior, spoiler and GTi alloys on and sold it for £350 a year later. Was actually really impressed with it. Bit of a bargain this. 1986 1.0 Mini City Auto. Old lady owner, 21,000 miles. £220. I blew the auto box up though, so tarted it up and got shot.http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g91/dev_man_2001/n536230253_334545_3632.jpg Now desperate for a car, I bought this. A 1991 1.3LX for £280. It was in ok nick when I bought it, slight dent in the drivers door and bit of rear arch rust, but then I slid into the back of a 206. Changed the bonnet which didn’t really close after that, so didn’t bother spraying it. Local pissheads thought it was dumped so kicked in some panels. Oh well. Used it up to the end of its MOT much to the neighbours (and my parents) dismay.http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g91/dev_man_2001/n536230253_334619_4152.jpg Bought this with the scrap money. 1993 Fiesta Festival 1.1. Not bad, stuck some RS turbo alloys on, RS turbo recaros, then drove the thing into a high kerb and jammed the passenger wheel into the wheel arch. Dragged it to the scrap yard and left a grove in the road. For about 3 miles. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g91/dev_man_2001/n536230253_334621_5047.jpg Then bought this which I loved. 1997 Escort Cabaret 1.6. £450. Tarted it up a bit, new back bumper, Colour mirrors, colour handles, Si alloys and seats. Needed shot eventually and let it go for £400. With a years ticket. Still see it around, might leave my number under its wiper, lol. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g91/dev_man_2001/4202_175073220253_536230253_6958530.jpg Then bought another Rover. 218VVC Coupe. Was really chavved up, decals EVERYWHERE. Got them off immediately, Car had had a £1500 engine rebuild, with a 2 year guarantee Gave him £800 and sold it for the same amount (could’ve asked for more but needed the money for my next car)http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g91/dev_man_2001/4202_175071270253_536230253_6958472.jpg The Jag. Always wanted one, this one came up at the dealership my old man buys his Jags from. 1997 3.2 Executive, 6 cylinder with LPG conversion. Gave him £1500, which included a service and a years tax & MOT. Full leather, cruise control, lovely car! Not giving this up unless a better one comes up cheap! http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g91/dev_man_2001/4202_174836855253_536230253_6953569.jpg Bought this before the Escort, wanted something to run alongside the Jag, so it wouldn’t get ruined. (I do about 30,000 a year). 1998 Tigra 1.4. Gave £300 for it. Sold it after 3 months, couldn’t take the abuse from my mates, so went and bought the Escort (pis of that to follow).http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g91/dev_man_2001/4202_174835745253_536230253_6953553.jpg And the Beemer. 1991 318is. Work in progress!http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g91/dev_man_2001/318is/ABCD0017.jpg

devman
moment of madness buying the capri?! its the best of the lot!! quite like the last beemer to. Haha, the biggest legend legend on here perhaps, but it was a pretty shonky Capri! The front spoiler was put on to cover the rust and dents, the electrics were absolutely terrible and the rot was appearing quicker than I could treat it. Good engine though - I rebuilt it Think the beemers going up for sale now. Need room for other projects
stuey650
I know what you mean about front spoiler, you'd never catch me putting on such a thing to cover the front valence up.... (check my car history if you've not already)
