KNITERIDER Posted April 7, 2010 Share Posted April 7, 2010 oil change is basically letting the oil come out by undoing the sump plug and filter to drain itself out then putting new filter on and replacing the sump plug and putting new oil in. an engine flush basically does what it says: flushes the engine i dont know what they use mind. some people do an oil change do a few hundred miles then change it again but i dont believe that is a "flush" in the real sense of the word. The standard cam is probably worn, so replacing it with a new standard one will probably improve things, but really not worth the effort - it's not a performance engine!
