ryanb1983
Hi all. New to this site but what i have seen so far has really impressed me. I own a 1995 Escort 1.8TDi, in deep purple. My friend and i have decided to strip it down and do it up. But we are unsure of which direction to take it in. We have decided to give it a sporty look, but not OTT or chavified. If anyone has any suggestions, good websites or any other info, it would be greatly appreciated. I am also looking into changing the engine. Would a 2.5l v6 Mondeo engine fit? Many Thanks Ryan
Mk6 Si Ross
welcome to evo How about just a subtle few gti upgrades? Should look very different in your car colour

Jack Skellington
I'd keep the engine dude, them things are bomb proof. Just wind the turbo up on it, fit yourself a nice little release valve and you'll have yourself a decent diesel engine there that will last for years and have more torque than most other Escorts you'll see. Just whatever you do.. don't go all Japanese with it, if you're wanting to be different (away from the GTi look) - go with the European look. Some of those look incredibly shexci! Oh and welcome! ScORTED
yup... RS2000 2.0 16v 150BHP - get a doner car goes straight inmondeo 2.0 16v silvertop engine 135BHP - use a 1.6 / 1.8 escort as a donor car just use the head and block from mondeo1.6 CVH rs turbo engine 133BHP (tunable to 190-210 easily)- requires some wiring and modifying skill to fit, but plenty of muppets have managed it in the past its not too hard1.8 zetec 16v engine 105/115/130bhp jjust find a rottern or crashed 1.8 escort and drop it in anything lesser would be slower than what you have now
MarkyMark
Welcome to EVO, ST170 engine for the transplant, it would be tough and require alot work but would be a good upgrade. Scorted covered the best engine options. Bodywork wise keep simple for now as it would be wise to do the engine replacement first

Craig855S
"Something different" and "sporty" dont really go together. The GTi kit (or at the very least the Gti sides and rear with a different front [evotech or cossie bib]) are the only external mods that dont look chavy really. As for engine changes. I'd start with a petrol base car unless the diesel's chassis is too good to scrap?

tezmanian devil
welcome to the site dude, i'v seen a 2.5 mondeo engine fitted to a escort but half the slam panel had to be chopped out to allow it to fit... best off getting a rs turbo/ or zetec unit in there, both are pretty easy to tune... Apnea
Hello. The best advice I can give you is; 1. Don't buy ANY 'modification' parts for your car from chavfords (halfords) 2. GTi is dead. 3. Euro is the way forward. 4. Dishes, static drop, stretch tyres are hows its done. I've been told that sluts go nuts for static drops. 5. 17"+ is far to Fcuk*ng big.
