Can some one just confirm what tools do you need to remove a front passenger door on a MK6 escort?

right you need a thick cushy floor mat, mechanics mat or just a large piece of foam/polystyrene just incase the door drops by accident!!

 

right you need a female torx set preferably long sockets that is! get em in a 1/4 inch drive as well don't need any larger ones!!

 

that and a good 1/4 inch ratchet and extension bars

 

then you need to undo the two female torx bolts in the door hinge

 

then spray loads of wd40 all around the hinge area and inside the bolt holes so that the wd40 can get inside and release it from any rust

 

then undo the torx bolt holding the second hinge and undo the door loom by twisting it

 

then just use any strength you have left to lift up the door from the hinge it will take some wobbling about etc etc and it will lift up and off just make sure you rest it somewhere safe!!!

can you remember what size female torx it is?

 

i can't remember off the top of my head, but i know you can get a set of sockets for around a fiver from the likes of draper! cheap yes but useful!!

Thats the way i done it! Really easy. I changed the drivers door on my Si. Thought it was gonna be a mission to do it but was so straight forward!
