On my way home tonight I spotted a silver Audi (Don't ask me which one) speeding towards the round about I was busy turning right on...

 

But it had a single flashing ORANGE light on the top of the car?

 

I didn't take no chances and slowed down on the round about when turning right to let it fly past... I watched it as it fly past me, undertook a lot of cars and then nearly crashed into another car while trying to squeeze into an exit

 

Was this just some charv messing about, or do orange lights actually mean something ?

Orange lights are for recovery vehicles and the only coloured light NOT reserved for emergencies vehicles.

The guy shouldnt have driven like that, they have no authority.

Organ transfer are sometimes transported by 'special' couriers.....but most are labelled - but an a4/6 avant would sound about right

Definitely didn't look like a recovery vehicle at all, just looked like he plugged this into his cigarette lighter:

Still only blue lights can be used to get through traffic

Whoever it was, be it a workan on a building site, or the highways agency, they have no right to drive like that or barge through traffic using an orange light.

 

An orange light can be carried on the top of any car legally IIRC, it means nothing.

 

Organ couriers would surely get blue lights? or drive at legal speeds..
