Posted April 15, 201014 yr whats the best way to sort this out as i want to do it before it gets any worse any advice http://www.evo-host.co.uk/getimg/23924.jpg
April 15, 201014 yr you could sand it down use kurust get it all clean and spray it or fiberglass it.
April 15, 201014 yr Author i really want it doing the best way as this is the only part letting my car down and will not go to any meets well its like that because dont want any grief about it
April 15, 201014 yr believe me, most are worse than that. you should see mine atm! im getting mine welded when i can find someone aty some point this year.
April 15, 201014 yr nope not at all, most cars on the stand have a bit of rot somewhere mate. theres not many without nowadays!
April 15, 201014 yr Author ok m8 thats the only reason i not been to any also mot today so will find out fate of the car
April 15, 201014 yr had my mot yday was pretty happy with what came back i had advisorys on: both rear chasis rails which i knew about, two small patches on rear sill which again i knew about both will be getting done, two tyres inside edges (wheels are being changed anyway) and slight damage to a wheel and a tyre and one brake pipe a bit corroded. so new wheels, weld chasis rails and two small bits of sill and a brake pipe and im good to go and can save to get arches replaced
April 15, 201014 yr Author did your sills have holes in at all m8 mine as where the jacking point is so filled with fiber glass for the mo
April 15, 201014 yr Just had my rear arch cut out & welded in, which is the only real long term solution. My car was meant to be back today but put back to Sat afternoon. Im having other magic bits done to so im a little nervous atm due to not seeing it since last Friday. My rear arch was worse than that scottie but started of like that, it soon crumbled.
April 15, 201014 yr no but it will get worse, rule of thumb, rust is already upto a foot further up the arch so you get rid of that bit it will come back eventually id do what peewee did and im going to do. im getting rears welded and replacing front wings.
April 15, 201014 yr As an alternative temp measure you may want to look at this.http://www.escortevolution.co.uk/forums/in...830&hl=rust
