just completed 2.0 conversion to 1998 escort 1.6 si went well following instuctions posted but confused about ecu, can i use a 1998 mondeo 2.0 ecu with pats and change the chip by inserting it into my original key by flicking out red cap would like to keep pats if i can and early ecu's are hard to find cheers

If the 98 ECU is EEC-IV then it's technically possible, but you need to swap over the Mondeo PATS system in its entireity, eg transceiver, etc.. it's a lot more work..

when you say transiever do you mean the lockring what else would i need to change sorry to be a pain
