Help With Effect!

I've seen this kind of effect around, it's like a gradient effect on a font:

I was wondering if anyone knew how to do this in Fireworks?

isnt that just a font on microstation using word art?

What do you mean by gradient? The way it's darker orange at the bottom of the letter than the top?

 

When you make text in photoshop you can either use the "blend options" or right click the paint bucket and it will bring up a gradient, i think, from memory

Select the font colour in the properties panel > fill options > select gradient from the top drop down menu.

 

Photo shop has hundreds of options like this also if you go into the blending options by right clicking on the layer.

Ah right, I don't really use Photoshop, just Fireworks. Guess it can't be done then?

Just type the word out that you want, then go to the Gradient tool (hold down on the paint bucket tool) and click roughly at the bottom of your text and drag up (hold shift for an even gradient) and its done
