Please help me in this problem as I lost my head now!!!!!!!!!!! The car does not open the boot from inside and not even by the key..what can I do please?????

Yes its electric boot release and the rear heater switch works normally and on the dash the door open bulb is on.

do you hear any rection when the pop button is pressed?

 

...if not it could be the commonly found boot ground fault every escort owner comes across eventually, however with the added problem of the key failing to work either Id hazzard a guess as to the solonoid jammed in the closed position which inturn will often stop the barrel moving even with the key (I suffered with this problem once before and was forced to climb into the locked boot and prise off the kick panel so as to be able to reach into the boot hatch cavity and disconnect the solonoids control bar and manually turn the barrel arm)

i had problems for ages , never used the key for ages resulting in the mechanism ceasing...but as has been asked... does the solinoid make any noise when you press boot release ?

Yes I hear the click of the solenoid trying to open but nothing happens.

possibly what happened to mine few weeks back .. the 'hoop' snapped both sides where it attatches to hatch .... keep pressing the boot release could take quite a few attempts but should pop eventually , not that hard of a job to change the mechinism
