The engine on my lexus is so dirty really needs a clean up. Whats the best thing to do? I have got a jet wash and a snow foam lance if that could be any use?

steam cleaner if you insist on using something other than elbow grease.

 

whatever you decide, cling film up all electric connectors that are exposed, and keep the car running while steaming it.

 

otherwise, use a simple degreaser, water, cloths and a brush to aggitate the grease

i had a bit of a scare doing mine in that the spark plug cover leaked water (common on focuses apparantly) so now i dont pour any water over the engine itself - i just use degreadser, brushes, mist spray and microfibres to dry. a watering can with shower head thing is useful.

my subaru engine bay, not the easiest to clean but came up great!
