our local is glentress,

my local is the Four Crosses.

there cant be that many good cycling places round there. pop up to snowdonia. there's so much cycling to do there you'll have so much chafing you'll need vasaline. :thumb:

It's pretty flat and open round this way, lots of country side buts it's all fields and doesn't appear to be alot in terms of trails.

There is a small forest just to the north of Northampton called harlestone firs, I've never ventured in but there must be something about it because there is always a few riders heading in or out, every so often I see the Leisure Lakes daventry van sat in the car park next to the garden centre.

web search salcey forest

Its not far from silverstone as long as you've got the bikes in/on your car. There's a 5 mile cycle route. Not really challenging with jumps or stuff. More a flat round route. Don't know how extreme you want the venue

thanks, do 20 miles every wed and 11 on sat looking for a mtb centre with proper trails will look at some of the other suggestions as well thanks for your input everyone

maybe give a couple of local shops a ring to see where their customers go

Cycle King 01604 948096

AJ Cycles 01933 413400

You're not going to find anything near as good as glentress down those parts of england mate, so i'd just leave the bikes at home and keep your biking to the likes of 7stanes

I don't MTB but i used to live in fife and had half a dozen mates who were always at the 7stanes trails
