Posted June 16, 201014 yr We've all seen them, the MK6 angel eye head lights, personally i think they're a real nice mod. But anyways mine have just arrived and I assumed that there would be some instructions with them as easy as it might be to fit. I'm a willing learner and i've fitted all other mods to my car but they have come with instructions which helped me to learn. Ive never seen what the back of the front head light area looks like but i thought there would be one or two molex connectors to hook my new lights up to. Upon opening the box and looking at the connectors theres one big molex but there some loose black and white leads with out connectors, would anyone be able to give me a quick heads up before i take the lot apart as to what i will need to be doing. Many thanks for any advice.

June 17, 201014 yr Sounds like you got a chopped pair, mine were simply plug and play, but I don't have mine wired up for auto adjusting
June 17, 201014 yr Theres two sets of black and white wires per light IIRC, you plug them into each other!

Any ideas how to transfer the electric motors across? Anyone have a guide on how to transfer the old electric height adjustment motors onto the new lights. Found on the net where is says remove 2 clips, im pretty sure theres 4 clips holding the lights together. The other question is the average person able to do this, dont want to have to fork out for labour unless i have too? Thanks
June 18, 201014 yr If it means taking the lights apart, Fcuk that, just get them adjusted at an MOT station and leave them?
June 18, 201014 yr You do need to ask yourself how much you need adjusting headlights. I didnt bother with mine & left mine in one position. I cant say I have missed them, would you?

June 22, 201014 yr Author Right chaps, I did it, but my goodness it was a long haul, forgive me for being and idiot but I didnt know you would have to remove the front bumper to get to the bottom screw. Removing the front bumper was no joke, to me and the dad about half and hour just to locate the four central bolts and just as he was about to call it a night i spotted them, once again forgive me for not knowing where they were, well i kinda knew just couldnt see them. Anyways after clocking them I got under the car using my spare wheel jack and had to jack the thing right up, im down 50mm on 16s. Managed to find a small enough spanner to get in there, bent my arm in 5 different directions and got to work about 1/5 of a turn at a time until they were all off, one side was not easier than the other, lost alot of skin on both hands. Got the bumper off and began to fit then new head lamps, instantly I liked the way they looked. With note to the above few posts, in principle to fit the automatic adjustment motors it seems straight forward. The manual adjusters fit in the same way as the electric ones do but no matter what I did i just couldnt get them to hook into the slot inside the light, they just wernt quite long enough to hook in so the manuals went back in much to my frustration as the fit in exactly the same way. Adjusting the manuals is no easy job either, there always seems to be stuff in the way, you have to hold the plastic part and turn the metal screw which is so small I dont have a socket small enough to fit so lost some more skin lowering the dip. Anyways, tracking back a bit, put the bumper back on, grill back on and secured all in place. Turned them on and i really like the look. They look just as good in the day as they do at night, having a metallic black escort with the black style lights looks really smart, they only thing what will make me really happy is now adjusting them to the correct dip but im yet to find a friends house with a driveway thats flat with a flat wall to adjust them against, might just get em done professionally. Anyways thanks for all the help posted, i appreciate it, took me from 9pm till 2:30 am to get them done, i literally thought that when it said 'plug and play' i could just raise the hood unscrew the current ones then put the new ones in. I really done want to take a bumper off again, i did seem a bit odd to have to remove the whole bumper just to get at 2 screws but nevermind, all done now. Thanks again
June 22, 201014 yr Shame you had so much trouble with the bumper, you should of asked we would of been only too glad to help. Or you could of just looked through this section as theres lots of already listed advice on taking the bumper off with photo's of all the bolt positions. The best thing to use because of the location is ring wratchet spanners as it saves lots of knuckles & skin lol.Glad you sorted it in the end and I wouldnt worry about the auto adjusters as you really dont need them anyway.
June 22, 201014 yr Even I can take my own front bumper off now, now you know where the bolts are it's a 10 min job max (If you don't have air-con?). I would definitely recommend getting the lights adjusted (professionally?) ... at an MOT station, but take it to someone you know, I took mine to Nationwide, Kwik-Fit, and loads of little garages and none of them would touch them or didn't know what to do. I went to see Carl160180 (member on here) and he sorted them out no problem when I put it in for it's MOT with him and it cost something like £5. Definitely worth the money, just don't take the lights out again once you have had them done! I took mine out to change the led's on the halo's and got to go back to get them re-adjusted
June 22, 201014 yr You do need to ask yourself how much you need adjusting headlights. I didnt bother with mine & left mine in one position. If your lights are set high enough to be dazzling drivers im sure you wouldnt have time to lower them as cars come around a bend for instance, its hardly like dipping & only gradual. Are they not bright enough on the lower non dazzling adjustment to just leave there?
