Simon69
Ive just purchased an ESCORT MK5 RS2000/ XR3i steering wheel could someone please tell me will this Fit my Mk6 Van http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/3339/steeringwheel.jpg What do i need to do to make it fit or is it just a straight swop. My Mk6 steering Wheel comes obviously with an inbuilt air bag so im a bit worried about trying to get the wheel off and this going off in my face lol any advice hints tips welcome
Jordan99940
i dont know weather it will fit i cant see why not but disconect the batter and leave it about half hour but i have been told the likelyness of an escort airbag going off even in the event of a crash is unlikely. you will get a flashing light on the dash as it has been disconnected so my advice is to take the bulb out as well. very simple job to do
RobMk6
as above with battery and adevice etc.... im assuming by your wording that you need to know the exact process.... its been a while so if my advice is slightly off then dont worry to much ha... behind the wheel itself are 2 torx or hex bolts.... i think..... remove them and remove the airbag unit.... unplug where needed, then remove the big nut and yank the bugger off then replace with your wheel, as mentioned your light will be on the dash so need to remove the bulb or make other arrangements
