I found that freesat is mostly contained with foreign channels

Incorrect. "FreeSat" has the following channels:

If you so happen to also tune into the other transponders broadcast across Europe, then that's your choice! Nothing to do with FreeSat!

im feckin useless at stuff like this.... physical installation and wiring of things then yea fine, butttttt..... what channels could i possibly pick up if i was to purchase a freesat setup?

you mention tuning into other transponders? whats all this?

cheers

Each channel is on its own transponder (frequency). FreeSat is a selection of channels broadcast on the Eurobird satellite. So you will get all the FreeSat channels but you can also add additional ones.

Is there any difference to the channels you get, between having a freesat box and having a sky box and a freeview card?

I personaly think its great for free, adds some extra channels to what I have on freeview. Not sure how it compares to sky freeview.

Yes, FreeSat is different to FreeSat by Sky. You get some different channels with Sky, but with a generic FreeSat box you can tune in whatever you want.
