some of the culprits common resulting in your symptoms,

re-occuring condensation

Incomplete closure of roof (not sealing)

split heater matrix hose

door rubber perished/torn

lower window rubber trim perished/torn

rot hole beneath battery tray (engine bay)

perished windscreen seal

heater fan gasket perished (engine bay, beneath scuttle)

eliminate those first.

if u lift ur boonet up with will the inside of the arch. just next to the battery u will see a hole ( i think there are some wires coming though it). I know that some times water sits there, and when u turn it will run inside the arch and run down into the footwell. i just some duck tape to cover the hole to see if that stoped it on mine and it was that hole. so i made up a metal strip with a gromet in to slide over the wires so the rain cant get in.

hope this helps you out.

aaaah i see! Sorry, I thought you meant the rear! That could be a reason actually, I have a sub cable running though that rubber grommet below it.. Ill have a tinker with it and get it water tight...

Its still the rear that gets the worst though, the other day there was an actual puddle in there :( took me 3 days to dry it out!!

Cheers!

erm, im not sure. i know when i got my escort the spare wheel holder was full of water. i mopped it up but it has not been back yet. so the only thing i can think of is that your carpet has some water in side. put it in front of the fire so it drys out. look around the seals on the boot to see if there any holes, splits or creaks when the water could be getting in.

part from that mate i dont no what else to say.

hope i have helped you out with the leak at the front

lol been there... What you find is everyone asks the same questions.. so eventually, you know the answers to questions because you've beent hrough it/read it here! haha!

Back on topic: Someone somewhere suggested ulcogging the drain holes on the sills.. Lotsa crap came out so we'll see if that helps at all!

Sometime soon, I'll also be checking that rubber grommet and making it a bit more watertight :P
