ChunkiEgg Posted August 17, 2010 Share Posted August 17, 2010 Escort mk6 encore (poverty spec, only luxury was a fag lighter)- bought it for £650 off my mum who was finding it harder to drive after having her 2nd bout of cancer, was wanting to learn how to drive so it made sense to help her out and I got a run around to learn in. Had the engine go boom on it even before I'd got it back up to leeds as my dickhead of a step dad was using it and had overfilled it with oil. ooops! RobMk6 Posted August 18, 2010 Share Posted August 18, 2010 mine was a 1400 mk5b which my uncle took in p/x turned out it was forked so took it back and got a 1300 encore mk6, which was technically my first car, it got written off after about 3 months when an ldv van hit the side of me, his insurance paid out exactly what i paid for it and i got to keep the car as there was no structural damage, so drove it for another 3 months before buying something else.i then stripped it to find out exaclty how escorts are bolted together i'll see if i can find a pic... Ragged it around for 6months or so I think (cant remember that far back) then in the same day I found out the head gasket was going I managed to get it sideways in a single track lane and take out a hedge with a wall inside it.
