Classic Scooby - Abused Paintwork

The owner of this Impreza usually take real good care of his cars but after taking it on track and having it washed at a local hand car wash at the side of the road to remove brake dust, I think he has just let this car get away a bit to say the least!

 

Having it keyed didn't help

 

I had it for the day yesterday (Monday) to see what I could do to improve the looks of the finish, it's in for an MOT today and then it is up for sale as the owner has just replaced this with a '53' plate blob eye:

The engine had a clean up section at a time using APC 4:1 and agitated with a couple of envy brushes before being wiped over with a damp microfibre towel and dressed with Finish:

The interior just had a very quick vac & dust down:

Now onto the part that took about 9 Hours.. The bodywork!

 

I give it a nice foam over using Valet Pro & APC mix:

While the foam was left to dwell, I went around with APC 10:1 and an envy brush to get in all the hard to reach areas, I then rinsed everything down, re foamed with Snow foam and washed with CG bodywash with the 2bm.

 

I then got the car inside to clay using Meguiars regular bar & last touch 1:1 as lube:

mine set me back £350 on my mica black classic, these days i steer well clear of the polish hand wash places also , only use the jet wash these days and then polish there far to easy to marr & swirl Edited August 27, 2010 by Hello_Dave
