Looking good, I love painting with radiant red, its so easy to paint with :)

Yeah i thought it was going to be alot worse than it was, and to be fair the halfords paint was actually a really good match! just shows my doors up for how pink they are now so thats next on the list to tackle!

looks good :) nearly a bit of page3 there! :O

haha there were boobies but i ripped them off before the picture :( hmm more boobies = more thread views? :P

just finished wet sanding down the laquer and polishing it up, looks really good :) could do with some more sanding in the future but thats all ive got in me for today lol

Things to do:

Buy rotary polisher and all applicable pads/polish/waxes to get my pink back to red!

Get her lowered 30mm, ideally some Gmax shocks aswell as i dont really want to just go for springs.

Get them wheels off and refurb/paint white :) will get some 16's when the tyres are more dead :)

Another busy day prepping and spraying got the wheels all finished in ford frozen white, not a perfect finish but got most of the rim damage/curbing out and filled in the ford logo on the center caps im pretty happy with them.

cleaned and rubbed down

Also wired up my remote locking, got it working but the unlock button locks it and vice versa .. random, need to look at it but at least it works for now.

had an incident with my dash surround, wanted to spray it frozen white like the wheels but it reacted with the paint and bubbled, think its because i just roughed up the paint/material thats already on it instead of fully removing it, will sort that tomorrow.

Tomorrows jobs include:

Oil/Oil filter change and wynns hydraulic lifter treatment in after.

refit wheels and flat back/polish depending on the finish

hopefully sort this dash surround out! then i think im done for a bit!

Cheers

From my experience that GTi dash's always react with the paint, always best to use the plain black ones

ahh really? im going to strip all the crap off of it tomorrow as some of it is already off, its just plain black underneath, stupid thing really annoyed me when it reacted lol

Damn wish i'd known this! haha will have one last attempt im going to annihilate it with a wire brush and sand it right down to the plastic and hopefully will be happy days from there on in.

Thanks about the wheels i had white speedlines on my 106 gti and have loved white wheels ever since, will be upgrading to mondy 16's eventually but this will keep me happy for now :)

I bet it wont be happy days! :censored: :vangry: I too had this problem, thought i removed all the crap its covered with and gave a thorough wipe over with degreaser! Didnt work, even used filler on suspect areas even after rubbing down AGAIN and didnt work. It looks good while its wet then it goes all chuck norris on you! I threw mine away and now have a black one, although i wasnt aware untill reading this thread that its those particular ones that do this! The fact my new one is plain black is just lucky :innocent:

Wheels look good btw :thumb:
