Jebiah
Looking good, I love painting with radiant red, its so easy to paint with Yeah i thought it was going to be alot worse than it was, and to be fair the halfords paint was actually a really good match! just shows my doors up for how pink they are now so thats next on the list to tackle! looks good nearly a bit of page3 there! haha there were boobies but i ripped them off before the picture hmm more boobies = more thread views? just finished wet sanding down the laquer and polishing it up, looks really good could do with some more sanding in the future but thats all ive got in me for today lol Things to do: Buy rotary polisher and all applicable pads/polish/waxes to get my pink back to red! Get her lowered 30mm, ideally some Gmax shocks aswell as i dont really want to just go for springs. Get them wheels off and refurb/paint white will get some 16's when the tyres are more dead

Jebiah
Going to be a busy few days to come, just got back from alton towers got the rest of the week off to fiddle with the car List of things to do: Refurb wheels and spray frozen white Spray dash surround frozen white Wire up remote central locking Prep and respray nearside wing/door and lower half of quater panel (mismatched pinky paint, long story) Already finished fitting the new shocks with -40mm lowering springs, thanks Kris (no thanks for rounded off the bolt that holds on the brake line bracket though) a couple of piccies so far, more to come Before http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/8435/img1276r.jpg After http://img812.imageshack.us/img812/502/img1277p.jpg Pics arent great of that but im really happy with how it looks and feels whilst driving, just need some mondy 16's now Alloys de-greased and nearly all wire brushed up http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/5073/img1287ip.jpg http://img542.imageshack.us/img542/7312/img1288j.jpg and a funny pic lol http://img146.imageshack.us/img146/737/img1289x.jpg
Jebiah
Another busy day prepping and spraying got the wheels all finished in ford frozen white, not a perfect finish but got most of the rim damage/curbing out and filled in the ford logo on the center caps im pretty happy with them. cleaned and rubbed down http://img545.imageshack.us/img545/7913/img1290o.jpg http://img864.imageshack.us/img864/1577/img1292r.jpg taped up ready for spraying http://img24.imageshack.us/img24/2899/img1293ne.jpg http://img863.imageshack.us/img863/458/img1294m.jpg Whiteness! http://img638.imageshack.us/img638/3386/img1296cq.jpg http://img546.imageshack.us/img546/7505/img1297s.jpg Also wired up my remote locking, got it working but the unlock button locks it and vice versa .. random, need to look at it but at least it works for now. had an incident with my dash surround, wanted to spray it frozen white like the wheels but it reacted with the paint and bubbled, think its because i just roughed up the paint/material thats already on it instead of fully removing it, will sort that tomorrow. Tomorrows jobs include: Oil/Oil filter change and wynns hydraulic lifter treatment in after. refit wheels and flat back/polish depending on the finish hopefully sort this dash surround out! then i think im done for a bit! JC
From my experience that GTi dash's always react with the paint, always best to use the plain black ones
Jebiah
From my experience that GTi dash's always react with the paint, always best to use the plain black ones ahh really? im going to strip all the crap off of it tomorrow as some of it is already off, its just plain black underneath, stupid thing really annoyed me when it reacted lol

I too had this problem, thought i removed all the crap its covered with and gave a thorough wipe over with degreaser! Didnt work, even used filler on suspect areas even after rubbing down AGAIN and didnt work. It looks good while its wet then it goes all chuck norris on you! I threw mine away and now have a black one, although i wasnt aware untill reading this thread that its those particular ones that do this! The fact my new one is plain black is just lucky Wheels look good btw
