Engine conversion quotation

Alright, I've been sent through an engineers report to get filled in for a quotation for a 2.0 conversion. As far as I can see the engineers report is the same checks as an mot with a tiny box that says does the car have an engine conversion ( which because it's only for a quote it doesn't) :S so what now?

Once the conversions done should I register it with Dvla then just get the insurance based on the car coming up on " the computer" as a 2.0 anyway?

once youve had the conversion inform the Dvla and they'll alter their records accordingly.

after that a great deal of modern insurers check any cars details against the dvla's data so you shouldnt have an issue having to explain the conversion to any insurer you seek a qoute from.

Thanks for the replies, don't think my insurers have ever had that question lol

So once I've registered with dvla, do I tell my insurance company it's had a conversion. Or will that not matter as it's coming up as being a 2.0 anyway?

First things first, check you current insurer can cover you with the conversion, an awful lot of insurers cannot. If they are unable to insure it with the conversion then speak to some insurance specialists who are used to dealiing with modified and performance cars.
