Amparo Blue Mk2 Mondeo Estate!

HIGHTOWER

Recommended Posts

as i found out after looking at this on fmoc, alot of later mk2's were oddly fitted with the 15" gti wheels (even weirder, more so the 2.0's)

i only hope the tow bar goes, the little door edge protectors go (i had them on mine too), the 15's go (but since i know he plans to put the 18's off the escort on there), handles get colour coded, side repeaters get swapped out for smoked and headlights get black eyed or at least de-tangoed (my current look by swapping for chrome bulbs nut black eyeing the spare set i have from the ghia x i'm breaking)

really wish i'd been a bit quicker and bought the Y reg amparo i found with the 16's on in mint condition and only 43K and f/f/s/h but i love mine

Plans are my 18s, half smoke the rear lights, smoked repeaters, blackeye headlights, ST bodykit (finding a back bumper will be a chore, though) lowered (not sure how much till I see it on the wheels) and that's about it!

Not doing anything custom on this one! CBA with all that lot anymore! Was too scared to use the escort anywhere cos I was worried about it getting bumped or vandalized! I just want something that's easy to replace if it gets broken!

...And yes, the tow bar is going, as are the door bumper thingys! Gimme a chance! Them pics are from 15 minutes after I picked it up!

Won't be colour coding the handles, though... I quite like them black... although my oppionion might change?

Just washed it and clayed it... then the heavens opened half way through polishing the bonnet so it's all smeared!

The last owner really did look after the car, but like most do he used a bucket and sponge to wash the car! Plenty of swirl marks, and I can't believe how much dirt I took off that I couldn't see!

Looks miles cleaner now, and much more reflective, but I'm yet to finish polishing it, and give it a coat of wax!

My sister is getting married tomorrow and I'm carrying the mother of the bride (my mum  ) so I'll take some pics of it with a ribbon on the bonnet!

should look class :D

i still need to tidy my paint up a bit. i'm putting coded strips on mine off a ghia x (that happens to be rusting away on my drive) so we'll see how they compare :) halfway through doing my black eyes too. just gotta put them back together :P

have you checked usual 90's ford rust spots of chasis legs? mine has tiny bit coming through so i'm dealing with that and the sills over the weekend hopefully (weather permitting)

Here's the pics of it Washed, clayed and polished! Still not waxed it yet, so that could give it an extra depth on top of what it has now! :headbang:

Proper loving this car, now, and I can't wait to make it "my own!"

The silver escort is being broken and the blue one is being sold as it stands! I can no longer afford to run 2 cars, and I didn't want to use the silver one daily, so I wanted something to replace them both!

Oh, and the underside of the mondeo is MINT!!! With the exception to rust on the bolt on parts, such as wishbones etc, the underside of the actual shell is REALLY good!

Do you know of a guide on how to do it? How did you open up the headlights?

I heard it's really easy on the mondeo lights... much easier than on the escort?

Cheers for the offer, but I think it'd be more to post them than I could get a set locally for! Very much appreciated, though! :D
